The night of May 31 to June 1, 2009 found Brad on AF447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. The flight never made it. The world lost a wonderful person: son, husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and colleague. His sense of humour, radiant smile, infectious energy, extreme generosity, and strong principles are a legacy to us all. We miss Brad terribly.
To honour his memory, the Brad Clemes Memorial Scholarship was created to accompany the Clemes Family Award – given to a Centennial CVI high school graduate who served on either Student or Athletic Council and was a keen participant in school activities.
As well for the 2nd year we are supporting the Free to Play Program, part of the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. The program helps underprivileged families with financial support for their children so they can participate in sports, camps or recreational activities that they might not otherwise be able to do.
Brad loved golf, enjoyed it all around the world, and was never happier than when playing with his sons and brothers or friends. Therefore we thought a golf tournament would be the most appropriate manner to pay tribute to the person he was, and to raise money for his scholarship.
